Project List For 2012

Do you feel like the Holidays are finally past..? have you taken a long, deep sigh of relief..? I hope so because there is MUCH work to be done this year - this, Hope Haven's, 30th Anniversary year !!! We have got so many things planned for the coming months... here's a short list:

1) expanding our Community Clothes Closet and Food Pantry by 300%;
2) sectioning a part of the Men's Dormitory to accommodate 2nd and 3rd shift workers;
3) upgrading our kitchen, including the installation of an overhead hood and exhaust to be able to utilize a deep fryer;

Our goal this year is to not only improve some of the physical aspects of Hope Haven but to raise the quality of the services we offer our clientele. Would YOU be a part of our aggressive plans to produce a "better" Hope Haven Gospel Mission in 2012 for the honor of Jesus Christ? Let us know by phone, email or Facebook message how you can work with us in any of the projects listed.

P.S. - the lunchroom has already been given a fresh coat of paint and we're preparing to swap some office space, so you may want to hurry if you expect to have a hand in the work that will be showcased at our 30th Anniversary Celebration...

Easter... The meal will be served on April 8th between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.  Volunteers are needed to serve and deliver the meals.  We can use between 15 or more drivers to deliver meals to shut-ins.  The people who sign up for the meals are usually people who live alone and it brightens their day to have a meal delivered to them.  If you have children that could come with you , that would put a smile on their faces also.  Depending on the weather we could serve up to a hundred or more people at the Mission.  We have people come in from the outside and sit down at the tables and the volunteers go and greet them and ask them what they would like to eat.  They also get them a drink of their choice and dessert.  They can also take home seconds after the designated time.    mcoffin

Thanksgiving... Was a great success this year. For a commentary on the action visit: our Hope Haven Homeless Ministry Forum.

Christmas...The Lord certainly blessed us again this year. We were able to provide 235 Christmas meals to our community and of those 175 were delivered to shut-ins by selfless folks with a heart for helping others. Our gratitude goes out to all those volunteers who had a part in today's success. We could not accomplish this without their added time and effort.

 Edward Mikhail Baptisim

On June 15th of 2008 Edward Mikhail is pictured here with Dr. McLaughlin after being obedient to the ordinance of  Believers Baptism, at the Open Door Bible Church in Lisbon, Maine where Rev. David Garnet is pastor.

Edward Mikhail accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior 2 weeks earlier during a Chapel service at Hope Haven Gospel Mission, and has now made a public profession of his faith in Jesus Christ; by this outward demonstration in a New Testament Bible Believing,, Christian, KJV, Local Church.

Ed is so excited by what God is now doing in his life, as he seeks to do the Lord's will in his 2 Corinthians 5:17 life.

What a blessing it is to have a new family member be born again into the family of God!

Joshua Silvia Graduates Hope Haven's GRACE programJoshua Silvia graduated our GRACE Rehabilitation program on September 16, 2007. He is pictured here with Pastor John Robbins (right side of picture) holding his certificate of completion. This is a proud moment for Joshua after much hard work. We pray that God will continue to bless his accomplishments as He has blessed this one.

Joshua Silvia's Testimony

For twenty-three years of my life, I lived without lasting peace and joy, even when my life was going great financially, I still felt a sense of emptiness. During the past year I realized I needed to accept Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and saviour, but I didn't have the proper understanding. I prayed for God to lead me in the right direction, a place where Christian values, and Christian beliefs were a way of life. That place was Hope Haven Gospel Mission. Hope Haven helped me grow as a Christian in need of spiritual guidance. I am a better man now, spiritually and mentally then when I first arrived at Hope Haven. I feel blessed since turning my life over to the Lord. Finally, I feel at peace in my mind, and heart because I know I have been given the gift of eternal life. I owe everything to Hope Haven because without it, I may never have received that gift.
