Ministry"

An Open
Letter from Ron Meldrum, Chairman, Board of
Directors.
To whom it may concern, This mission field is
often utterly neglected. Usually
it's considered the domain of secular groups or
government programs. "The Government will take care
of them," we say.
It is not an exciting or romantic mission field.
You get your hands dirty. Drunks
throw up on you. You're surrounded by utter
hopelessness day-in and day-out.
You are dealing day-by-day and hour-by-hour with
people who have been chewed up and spit out
by the world, people whom the enemy has dragged
through the lowest of low places.
People who need food, clothing, and a place to
sleep, but don't have a penny to
their name with which to pay for it. Men, women, and
children of all ages - from the newborn baby to the
elderly grandmother.
It's an endless mission field.
One with a continual supply of work. One with
no glamour and rarely even a "thank
you."
This is the mission field of the gospel rescue
mission.
